2000s: Healthy is back...Sort of
Goodbye heroin chic, hello new Millennium! Vogue credits model Gisele Bundchen for the death of heroin chic and the introduction of more healthy, active looking bodies. Airbrushed, sunkissed looking tans along with visible abs were the most sought after features of the decade. "Natural look" makeup again became popular for women in the 2000s, with eye makeup being the only dark colors on the face. While healthier than the previous trends of the '80s and '90s, the ideal BMI was significantly less than the average American woman.
